Quickstart: Connect WordPress in 60 Seconds

Follow these 3 easy steps to pair your WordPress site with any LLM client using our Cloud Model Context Protocol bridge.

Install the Digent Smart AI Plugin

Upload and activate the digent-smart-ai plugin in your WordPress admin panel (/wp-admin/plugins.php).

Click "Connect to Digent Cloud Gateway"

Open the Digent Smart AI settings tab and click the 1-Click Connect button. The gateway registers your site UUID and generates your cryptographically secure HMAC secret key.

Copy Your Client Configuration

Paste the provided MCP configuration snippet into Claude Desktop, Cursor IDE, or ChatGPT to start chatting with your WordPress site immediately.

Connecting to Claude Desktop

Claude Desktop uses Model Context Protocol servers to execute commands on remote servers. Open your claude_desktop_config.json file:

Connecting to Cursor & Windsurf IDE

In Cursor IDE, go to Cursor Settings → Features → MCP Servers, click Add New MCP Server:

Type: SSE or Command
Name: WordPress Site
URL: https://gateway.digentsmartai.com/api/mcp/YOUR_SITE_UUID

ChatGPT Custom GPT Actions

Every site connected to Digent automatically receives a dedicated OpenAPI 3.1 schema.

In the OpenAI Custom GPT builder, click Create new action, paste the URL above into the Import from URL box, set Authentication to API Key (Bearer), and save!

WP-CLI Command Whitelist

For site security, arbitrary bash or shell commands are blocked. Digent Smart AI provides native WP-CLI runner support for the following verified namespaces:

OpenAPI Specification & MCP JSON-RPC

Digent Smart AI exposes both an OpenAPI 3.1.0 schema for REST clients (e.g. ChatGPT Actions) and a JSON-RPC 2.0 streaming endpoint for Model Context Protocol (MCP) clients.

MCP Invocation Gateway:

Mandatory Cryptographic Headers:

X-Digent-Site-UUID: Your site's unique identifier
X-Digent-Timestamp: Unix epoch seconds (drift tolerance: ±300s)
X-Digent-Nonce: Cryptographically random 16-byte hex string
X-Digent-HMAC: SHA256 hex digest of payload + timestamp + nonce

Autonomous Mode ("Dangerously Bypass Approvals")

Important Security Notice: Enabling Autonomous Mode allows the AI assistant to perform modifications and file writes without prompting for approval on each step.

To activate Autonomous Mode:

Go to your WordPress Admin → Digent Smart AI → Settings.
Locate the Approvals & Execution Mode section.
Toggle the "Dangerously bypass approvals" switch to ON and click Save Settings.
The status pill will update to AUTONOMOUS ACTIVE.
